Gearing up for ski season
September 28, 2021
The fall chill is starting to set in across the country and our minds have turned to the ski season ahead. Now that you’ve secured you’re pass (haven’t yet? check out our latest post for the Ultimate Pass Tracker to determine which pass is best for you) it’s time to start thinking about your GEAR. I have no shame in the fact that the gear is one of my favorite elements of skiing. I’ve shared in the past some of my go to companies for goggles, gloves, pants, ski poles, etc. and have saved those sources here. It’s no secret that skiing is an expensive sport. The sticker shock of the pass alone can sting, however, there are some great options out there for more affordable gear and I am here to help. Looking for something specific and need advice? Steep and Cheap: Don’t care about having this years styles or color? Steep & Cheap is your site. They have an incredible collection of past seasons gear from Patagonia, Hestra, Flylow, Smartwool and many more for quite a steal. Sharing a few items I’ve been eyeing…
Lone Pine Gear Exchange: Live in Salt Lake City area? Meet your new favorite spot for new and consigned outdoor gear. Did we mention they also have a coffee shop on site? Not a Utahan? They have quite an impressive online presence, specifically within the backcountry ski department.
Evo: Similar to Steep and Cheap Evo has a deep collection of past seasons gear at a discount. They also carry the latest and greatest from most brands in the industry and is a great go to site for all things gear. I am biased, but my favorite pair of skis the past couple seasons have been the Atomic Backlands…
Glade Optics: It is no secret that Glade is a conSKIerge favorite. They’re goggles are high quality at a lower cost than their competitors. No surprise that these goggles are popular and they will see out… grab a pair while you still can!
